Last night I stayed up until about 3am finishing a hat:

New Hat!

It’s really warm, and goes down to cover my ears. I had to add more to the back because I didn’t think it went down low enough, but now that that is done, I’m really happy with it. When I walked outside around 3, I was shocked at how warm it seemed to be. I didn’t even feel I needed my mittens, although this is still how my street looks:

Sure Would Be Nice To Get A Plow...

Funny how I have to pay extra taxes just because I live in the city, and yet, 5 days after the snow storm, my street still had 4″ on snow on it.

I went to the LYS and got a new yarn for the fishes, hopefully this one works out. As I was leaving, I still couldn’t believe how warm I felt. I was sure it must have been 37 degrees out. So, I looked at my phone for the weather. Nope. It was 23 degrees. That number looks so cold, but I guess compared to zero, it’s really quite tropical. :)

Then I went to Jess’ to hang out and have a yummy dinner that she made. When she was preparing everything, there was a slip of the hand which could have made her toe-less, and shocked us all:

THIS Is A Knife

She said she was glad we were there to witness it, because it only really happens like this in the movies. We were glad she kept all her toes. Matt would have fainted, and there’s no way I could have carried her by myself. ;)

When I got home, I gave Scout another bath. She’s getting more energy now that she’s being fed properly, which is good, but it sure does make it harder to give her a bath now that she’s strong enough to try and get away. I’m happy to report that with this new green apple shampoo, she’s much less smelly. She barely smells like the pound now. After a few more baths, she’ll be the best smelling dog in the city, only paralleled by Paisley.

So, that’s really it. For sleeping until noon, I sure got a lot done today.

I was crabby when I got home, but went to knit night anyways. I tried to swatch for my Swedish fish mittens, but the gauge was off. Then I swatched for some bulky mittens, but the gauge was off. So, I ripped back both and gave up on knitting for the night.

My chest is tight and I’m having troubles breathings. I think it’s stress, but I’m not sure.

Since I didn’t make progress on anything new tonight, here’s one of the preemie baby hats I’ve been making instead of deciding on what’s to come next:

Roll Brim Preemie Hat
